2004 OFFICERS

Donna Balin

The new year brought with it a new slate of offices for 2004. You can see a list of all board members here.

This is going to be another great year for TEW, and the officers are ready to get to work. If you want to volunteer for a committee, just call or send an email to the appropriate chairperson.

To the left is Donna Balin, your TEW President for 2004.

A NOTE FROM NANCY B. HALL
(2004 VP of Communications)

I am so excited to serve as your VP of Communications! It is my desire to have a team of remarkable women working with me in the area of communication. Cay Dickson does a fabulous job of creating our newsletter and it is the responsibility of the communication team to make sure she has everything she needs to create the outstanding end result.

If you would like to contribute to the communication within TEW, please consider joining me for a brief meeting on February 10, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at the Briar Club. This is our opportunity to discuss the newsletter for the following month.

My commitment to TEW as VP of Communications is:
1) Be in communication with my fellow members,
2) Be open to the thoughts and opinions of TEW members as it pertains to communication, and
3) Learn as much as I can from the outstanding team of women that serves as TEW members.

Please email me at ncbee@aol.com or call me at 713-202-4821 if you want to participate with a fun, interactive team of communicators! I look forward to serving each of you to the very best of my ability…….HERE'S TO A GREAT YEAR!

Nancy B. Hall
VP of Communications

TEW MENTORING PROGRAM

ALDINE MENTORING PROGRAMS

Once again, young women from Ladies of Distinction and Ladies of Excellence, TEW's two mentoring programs in Aldine schools, were privileged to attend the 2003 Women on the Move event. I can think of no better way to challenge and motivate young women to obtain an education and seek a challenging career than to meet first hand those women in TEW, as well as present and former Women on the Move® - who have overcome obstacles and created exciting and meaningful careers for themselves. FEBRUARY MEETING MEMO

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10

TEW Member and 1991 WOM, Bonnie Hellums, judge of the 247th District Court, will be our speaker. Come hear this outstanding judge give us a glimpse of a new program that will start in her court in February. It is called Family Intervention Court and will assist in getting substance abusers in recovery and reunited with their families. Her experience in the family courts has shown her that sometimes what we are doing is just not working and thoughts outside of the box are the only chance for progress.

All meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at:
The Briar Club
2603 Timmons Lane
(Westheimer at Timmons)

Time: 5:30 PM Social, 6:15 p.m. program

Upcoming Meetings:
March 9

Barbara Halstead will present the March program. Come listen as she tells about her recent time in Saudi Arabia, from where she returned just in time. She will also have photos to give you a real image of that part of the world.
