LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
May President's Message: The glorious month of May! We are one-third through the calendar year, but we are now able to see the fruition of the work that has been going on in our mentoring programs as the end of the school year looms. Our career tours are a huge success in their execution and the inspiration they provide the students we support. My own exposure to the process has been exhilarating to say the least. I suddenly find myself up to my eyeballs in the program and enjoying every minute. Applause, applause to Linda Holt, Katherine Hudgins, Carolyn Wyly, Theresa Chang, Margo Snider and all the volunteers who dedicate themselves to this unique opportunity for young women who deserve a future. We can share the excitement about TEW-North's kick-off plans for the next school year's mentoring program inaugural. And the Scholarship Committee headed by President-Elect Carolyn Wyly has done excellent work in assessing applications and designating financial support to deserving students. The upcoming presentation banquets will be truly joyous occasions for all. We hope to see you at the meeting next Tuesday evening which promises fellowship, enlightenment and good food. See you at the Briar Club. Beverly Kaufman

| It is that time of year again! Mark your calendar for October 19, 2007 for the big event. I hope all of you have a couple of friends/colleagues who deserve to be nominated. The success of the event starts with excellent nominations. The nomination form is on our website (http://tewhouston.org/womnom.htm), and members will be receiving one in the mail. Nominations must be at The Chronicle by 5 p.m. May 31, 2007. As we did last year, we will be having a raffle at the luncheon. Donations thus far include 2 first class round trip domestic tickets from Continental Airlines and a $500 gift certificate from Masterson Design jewelry. I invite you to secure something for the raffle. It can be from your company or perhaps some of your contacts that would have a super addition to the raffle. Help me make this another banner year. -- Margo Donaldson Snider
